The 78 is a transit-oriented development that extends Chicago’s central business district. Highly accessible from streets and waterways, the development features new water taxi stops, new bike lanes and pedestrian-friendly streets, and proximity to local and regional rail lines.
The River’s Edge
At The 78, a half-mile, 100-foot-wide swath of land will be dedicated to all-season recreation, with access to the river including a water taxi stop — and waterfront cultural events, family attractions and programming.
My Role
During my time at SOM's City Design Studio, I actively participated in the project's multiple design phases. Since it restarted in 2017, I assisted the conceptual design of the overall urban framework to fit diverse development's criteria such as density, landscape design, program allocation and concept design of the architectural typologies. I also performed site research, participated on the graphic production of imagery and urban diagrams.
